William Ronald “Bill” Stone, 75, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at NMMC in Tupelo, MS. He was born in Clarksdale, MS to John Leonard and Martha Lee Fowler Stone. He was retired as a registered nurse and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Vina, AL. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran serving as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army and received the Bronze Star Medal.
Services will be Thursday, May 9, 12 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Bro. Matthew Haney and Bro. Jerry George officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Delitha Stone; four children, Leigh Ann Keady (Sean), Melissa Farris (Rob), Rob Stone (Kristi) and Mary Katherine Rosales; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; step-children, Carey Snyder (Jeff) and Troy Miller; brother, Johnny L. Stone (Ann); special friends, Bobby and Sharon Copeland and two brothers-in-law, Jerry George (Shanda) and Willie George.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Copeland, Robert Moomaw, Jack Keady, Sean Keady, Hub Humphries, Rob Farris, Jeff Burks, Marshall Lentz, Pete Blanton and Russell Manasco. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Miller and Larry Strickland.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 10-12 at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
