Mr. William Robert Pruett, age 87 of Bolivar, Tennessee, passed away Sunday night, December 15, 2019 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Mr. Pruett was born Wednesday, June 15, 1932, to the late Roy Robert Pruett and Ina Marian Cook Pruett in Memphis, Tennessee. On Saturday, October 10, 1953, he married Anita G. Pruett. For twenty-seven years he worked for the Memphis Press Scimitar. Mr. Pruett was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Bolivar, serving as a deacon and usher. He enjoyed the outdoors, nature, making stained glass, collecting guns, and drawing. He was good at working with his hands. Above all, he loved his wife, Anita. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict from March 1952 to March 1956. He moved from Memphis to Hardeman County in October of 1999.
Mr. Pruett is survived by his wife, Anita G. Pruett of Bolivar; a son, John Pruett (Katie Dann) of Memphis; two daughters, Glenda Pruett Maxwell (Brian) of Olive Branch, MS, and Ann McDaniel of Memphis; five grandchildren, Jennifer Minor (John), Katie Zinn (Alex), Nicholas Pruett Maxwell (Juliah), Kellie McCoy (Ricky), and Jacob William Maxwell (Colby); and a great-grandchild, Bradley Minor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Gean Kidd; and a son-in-law, David McDaniel.
