Funeral services for William Robert Jordan, age 96 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 am at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Black and Bro. Tom Russell officiating. Mr. Jordan passed away Thursday morning in Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
A native of Dayton, TN, he was the son of the late Henry Richard and Susan Ritchie Jordan. Mr. Jordan moved to Chattanooga at age ten and to Lincoln County in 1994. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, retired accountant with Brooks Welding Supply, and a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ. Prior to moving to Fayetteville Mr. Jordan served as an Elder at White Oak Church of Christ in Chattanooga.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years Dora Winkler Jordan of Fayetteville, two daughters Anne Underwood and husband John of Fayetteville, Jennifer Anderson and husband David of Garland, TX, grandchildren Shannon Reed of Fayetteville, Allyson Barnes of Fayetteville, Julie (Julio) Orantes of Murfreesboro, TN, Carrie (Jeb) Matulich of Frisco, TX and Leigh (Eric) Houston of Castle Rock, CO, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
