William Raymond Gipson, age 89 of Decherd, passed away on July 17, 2022, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton. Raymond was born on November 11, 1932, in Winchester, Tennessee to the late John Leonard and Alice (Rose) Gipson. A hardworking farmer since the age of nine, Raymond had various types of row crops, beef cattle and enjoyed raising the calves. If you could not find him close to the cattle, just be looking for Raymond to be ridding his 285-tractor bailing hay. In his spare time, he would saddle up a saddle horse and compete in various horse shows, where he won several trophies. He was a member of the Greenhaw Baptist Church. Raymond will be missed by many. Rest in peace “PA”. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Leona Coker Gipson; son, William Gipson; nephew, Richard Gipson and several brothers and sisters. Raymond is survived by his grandson, William Ross Gipson of Decherd; special friends, Jasmine Moseley and Abel Moseley; nephew, John Gipson and several great nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 2:00pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. John Gipson and Bro. Kevin Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Mt.
