William “Raymon” Cordle, formerly of Florence, Al, passed away Friday, June 4 at the Calvert City Convalescent Center at the age of 92.

He is He is survived by daughters: Deborah Priest (Eddie), Connie Richardson (Glenn), son: Lance Cordle (Laura), Sister: Minne Earle Senn. Linda Sue O’Connell. 7 Grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Joy Cordle; daughter: Beverly Smith; parents: Lehman and Eunice Cordle; brother Alonso Cordle, Edward Cordle, Rudolf Cordle, sister Margie Smith.

Visitation and funeral will be held at Stony Point Church of Christ on Tuesday, June 8. The visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Stony Point Cemetery. Greenview Memorial Chapel will be in charge of the services.

Raymon received a GED as an adult after leaving school early. He was a skilled carpenter and a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. He was involved in many construction projects for TVA (Brown’s Ferry, Joe Wheeler Lodge in Alabama, and Pickwick Dam in Tennessee). He also worked for various other employers in the Shoals Area. He also built five houses which he and his family occupied through the years. He was a member of the Stony Point Church of Christ and a deacon in the church for many years. He loved his family and sacrificed for them throughout his life. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren during his retirement. After living in Florence for most of his life, he moved to Stilley House Assisted Living in Benton, KY where he resided for three and a half years.
