William Ray Woodard – Obituary

Funeral for William Ray Woodard, 87, of Moulton will be today, August 8, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. at Aldridge Grove Church of Christ with Kenneth Johnson, O.D. Bowling and Ray McWhorter officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing. Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Aldridge Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. before the service.

Mr. Woodard, who died Tuesday, August 6, 2013, was born April 19, 1926, in Lawrence County to John F. and Ruby Woodard. He retired from Monsanto after 29 years. He was a faithful member of Aldridge Grove Church of Christ where he served as an elder for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Orman and Billy Woodard.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nadine Woodard; one son, Don Woodard (Glenda); two daughters, Jan Ellis (Wayne) and Debbie Johnson; six grandchildren, Todd Ellis, Jeff Ellis (Becky), Scotty Woodard, Catruna Woodard, Randi Richey (Josh) and Britton Holmes; and eight great-grandchildren.
