Celebration of Life for William Ray Phillips, age 69, of Decatur, will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Trinity United Methodist Church with Bro. Dallas Culver officiating. Parkway Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Mr. Phillips, who died Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born September 30, 1954, in Alabama to William Clarence Phillips and Reva Berry Phillips. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Charles Kenneth Phillips. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Methodist Church where he served as choir director for 30 years. His leisure time was spent enjoying music and theater. For 30 years he was employed by Cook’s Pest Control.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth Alan Phillips; daughter, Emily Phillips Vandall; sister, Kathy Phillips Owens (Barry); two grandchildren, Grayson Vaughn Vandall and Katherine Elizabeth Vandall; and his dear friend, Pam Kitchens Phillips.
