Mrs. William R. (RuthAnn) Haymes, 87, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday at her home. Mrs. Haymes was born in Neosho, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Leonard Ball and Pansy Osborn Ball. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Riley Haymes.
RuthAnn and her husband, Bill, move to Huntsville in 1964 with Sperry Rand. After he passed away in 1966, RuthAnn became a special education teacher and continued to raise her family. She was truly a lifelong learner often reading a book a day. She enjoyed sewing, French needlework, and gardening and was very active in her church, DAR, and in her community.
Survivors include her children, Mark Gordon Haymes, William Leonard Ball Haymes (Demetra), Christianna Haymes Crittenden (Tom) and Riley Ann Lacey (Tim); and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, at the Church of the Nativity.
