William R. “Ditto” Sanford

William R. “Ditto” Sanford, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2023 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family following a brief illness.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Mr. Sanford will be at 11 AM Wednesday, February 22 at Mt. View Baptist Church with Bro. Randy Hurt officiating. Burial will follow in Falkner Cemetery.
Mr. Sanford was born August 21, 1944 in Memphis, TN, the son of the late Charles and Florence Melissa Free Sanford. He was a graduate of Westside High School in Memphis and was a valued Electronic Technician with Bellsouth / ATT for 32 years before retiring.
A devoted member of Mt. View Baptist Church, Mr. Sanford read his Bible every night, enjoyed taking afternoon naps and was known to be a family jokester and prankster. A maticulous woodworker and the “Master of Piddlin'”, he also loved the outdoors that included camping, working in his yard and riding 4-wheelers.
Visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, February 21 and will continue Wednesday, February 22 from 8 AM to 11 AM at Mt. View Baptist Church.
Memories will continue to be shared by his wife of 59 years, Brenda Kay Clifton Sanford, one daughter, Robbie Kay Sides (Chris), two sons, Randy Sanford (Risa) and Richie Sanford (Tina), all of Ripley, one sister, Shirley Fuller (Tenny) of Marion, OH, one brother, Charles Sanford (Carolyn) of Eads, TN, four grandchildren, Randy Lee Sanford, (Felicia), Robert Sanford (Stephanie), Kayte Ralph (Jacob) and Nichole Sanford and four great grandchildren, a loyal canine, “Dusty” and two feline companions, “Meaness and “Smokey”.
The family would like to express a special thank-you to his caregivers, Wanda Caper, Tiffany Hight and Angel Riendeau of Magnolia Hospice.
