William Phil Sutton, 57, of Hatton passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at residence. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM till 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Timothy Murray and Josh Horton officiating. Burial will be in Fergason Cemetery.
Born on August 17, 1966 to Ted and Elizabeth Horton Sutton, Phil was a graduate of Hatton High School and a member of Wolf Springs Baptist Church. He loved deep sea fishing, skiing, scuba diving, racing and joking around with those he loved. Phil enjoyed fixing cars for his neighbors and friends. He loved all his friends, playing cards and going to The Shed.
Survivors include his son, Colby Sutton of New Hampshire; parents, Ted and Elizabeth Sutton; step-son, Tyler Hodges; and his sister, Faye (Joe) Bowman; niece, Samantha (David) Thornton; nephew, Blake (Ashley) Hill and several great nieces and a great nephew.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Horace and Amy Horton, Irene Horton and Lennear and Lucy Sutton.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Anderton, David Thornton, Jeff Parker, Rickey Bradford, Danny Randolph, Johnny Horton, Pug Johns, Bo Sutton, Matthew Jones and Phillip Jones.
The family extends special thanks to Helen Keller Hospital-3rd Floor, Hospice of North Alabama, Dr. Lindsay and Dr. Brasco.
