William "Pete" BrittonWilliam “Pete” Britton passed away Sunday morning, October 1st, 2023, at his home in Giles County surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Giles County on January, 29th, 1932 and was 91 years old.
Pete graduated from Beech Hill in 1950, served 2 years in the Army during the Korean Conflict, served on the Giles County School Board for 24 years, and was chairman of the School Board for the majority of that time. He was a long time member of Frankewing Lions Club and an active member of Beech Hill Church of Christ. Pete worked at Heil Quaker for 20 years, was part owner of NAPA Auto Parts for 8 years, assistant Road Superintendent for 12 years, and Road Superintendent for 8 years. He retired in 2004 from the Giles County Highway Department. He loved his family, spending time on his farm and spending time with his great grandson Barrett which he called “Doogan” and great granddaughter Britton. Pete was a member of the Quail Hunters Association. He loved all sports especially football and softball.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be 11:00am Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
The burial will follow in the New Zion Cemetery in Pulaski, Tennessee.

Memphis, TN 38105 .

Pete was preceded in death by, his parents, John William and Mary Elizabeth Ayers Britton along with his son-in-law Buster Wallace.

He is survived by,
His wife of 66 years, Mildred Britton of Pulaski, Tennessee.
Daughter, Marsha Walllace of Pulaski, Tennessee.
Granddaughter, Shelby (Brandon) Wells of Pulaski, Tennessee.
Great-grandchildren, Barrett and Britton.
Sister, Mary Ann (Robert Wayne) McAfee of Pulaski, Tennessee
Bonus Family, Bill (Trina) Wallace and family of Pulaski, Tennessee
Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends also survive.

Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for William “Pete” Britton.
