William Perry “Butch” Putt

William P. Putt Profile Photo Just three days shy of his 81st birthday, William Perry “Butch” Putt passed away at his home in Baldwyn on Sunday, July 28, 2024. He was born in Tupelo on July 31, 1943 to Cleveland and Regina Rogers Putt. William was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a very talented musician. He was a lifelong tradesman who loved working with his hands. A longtime public servant, William served over 30 years on multiple police forces, concluding his time as a School Officer for Baldwyn Elementary, where he was adored by the children he protected. He was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ.

William leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Raines Putt; his daughter, Kristy Sweat; his only brother, Ricky Putt (Mary); six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joey Putt; and a daughter, Kelly Putt Harmon.

Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Pegues Funeral Directors in Saltillo.

Services celebrating William’s memory will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, July 31 at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues with Minister Ricky Kimble officiating. Burial will follow in Euclatubba Cemetery.
