Funeral services for William Mitchell Jeans, age 86, of Kelso, TN will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Benny Berry and Bro. Jason Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 5 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, July 16 at Higgins.

William was born in the Kelso area of Lincoln County, TN to the late Lannie and Lila Mae Griffin Jeans. He was a member of Smithland Community Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. William was employed for over 35 years by Elk Yarn Mills in Fayetteville until its closure, then five years at Franke. After retirement, he drove a tractor for Tate Farms in Meridianville, AL and delivered strawberries for Dennison Farms in Elora. William enjoyed his family time, especially when it was time to eat, talking to anyone he could find to talk to, and being on his tractor on the farm. Until health problems arose, he could be found in his shop or on his tractor. William passed away July 13, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Rebecca Milstead (Ms. Becky) Jeans; sons, Robert M. “Bobby” Jeans, Sr. and wife Cindy of Nolensville, Dwight R. Jeans and wife Karina of Fayetteville; daughter, Lisa D. Pearson and husband Tim of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Carrie Jeans (Jay) Rickles, Robert (Jenny) Jeans, Jr., Matthew Jeans, Alex Pacheco Jeans, Jessi Pearson, Tabi Pearson (Wyatt) Bomar; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Lila, and Caleb Rickles, County, Cole, Darren, and Kyle Jeans, Brayden Bomar; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his son, William Michael Jeans; and his brother, Raymond Lee Jeans.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thank you to Dr. Donald Tucker and Dr. Mark Blair as well as to Gentiva Hospice, especially Andrea, Jessica, Cindy, and Crystal.
