William Milton “Bill” Earrey departed this life on Monday morning, April 3, 2023 from his longtime Okolona residence after a lingering illness. He was 63. Born on July 11, 1954 in Okolona to the late Robert Rufus Earrey and Thelma Belon Long Parker, he attended Okolona Public Schools. He served several years in the Mississippi National Guard. Bill spent his working life as a Supervisor in the Furniture Industry with most of his years as an employee of United Furniture. A Baptist, Bill loved the outdoors, fishing, quail hunting and enjoying NACAR, with his hero’s Dale Earnhart and Davy Allison.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Elder Bobby Lynn Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery in Van Vleet. Visitation will be from Noon-service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Holland Funeral Directors-Okolona is honored to be serving their friends.
Bill is survived by his wife, Gail Earrey of Okolona and Amory, to whom he married May 4, 1991 in Amory; his son, Mitchell “Mitch” Earrey of Nashville; his daughters, Kissey Allen of Amory and Sandi Butler (Will) of Culleoka, Tn.; sister, Amy Cunningham of Houston, MS; brother, Eric Moore of Oxford; 5 grandchildren, Josh, Nathan, Carragan, Savannah and Summer. 6 great grandchildren, Aliana, Hannah, Mia, Emma, Eli and Hunter, a special niece Melanie West of Okolona; his little buddy Landon Baskin, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Parker; Father, Robert Rufus Earrey; Stepfather, Lewis Parker; brothers, Robert Rufus Earrey, Jr. and Phillip O’neal Earry; sister, Orville Ann Earry Holley; and a nephew, Phillip O’neal Earry, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Jerry West, Andrew Earnest, Buster Brock, Josh Earrey, Josh Page and Nathan Russell.
