William M. Sanders, Jr. Profile Photo Services for William Merrill Sanders, Jr., 86, are set for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Corinth. Visitation will be Friday, January 12, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Corinth, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 13, 2024,  from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.

 

Mr. Sanders died Monday, January 8, 2024 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born in Lumberton, Mississippi on November 19, 1937 to the late William Merrill Sanders and Loris Moran Sanders. He was a graduate of West Point High School and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University while on an ROTC scholarship. He was employed with Tyrone Hydraulics/Dana Corporation as Quality Assurance Manager. While he was employed with Tyrone, he taught Excellence in Manufacturing classes in the United States, Japan and Europe. After retiring from Dana, he was employed with Geartek as Quality Manager.

He served in the army from 1961-1963 as a First Lieutenant.

He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and served as a past President. He had a servant’s heart and enjoyed teaching Sunday School and working with The Transformation Ranch.

 

He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Clausel, Tracey Rogers and Dawn Wilbourne; grandchildren Ashley Clausel, Alan Clausel (Ally), Andy Clausel, Christopher Shipman, Rebecca Rogers, Wiley Lantz (Linda), Gentry Stafford (Gabe); great-grandchildren Lennox Clausel, Cayleigh Shipman, Zander Lantz, Hadley and Riley Stafford; sisters Kathy Wills, Becky Parker (Hubert); brothers, Bobby Sanders (Barbara), Ab Sanders (Jan). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Sanders, brother, David Sanders and son-in-law, Bryan Clausel.

 

The family would like to send a special thank you to Magnolia Regional Heath Center and the staff of Mississippi Care.

 

Bro. Dennis Smith will officiate the service.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Christopher Shipman, Wiley Lantz, Alan Clausel, Andy Clausel and the Ambassadors Sunday School Class.
