William Melvin ‘Bill’ Butler

Mr. William Melvin ‘Bill’ Butler, age 80, of Fairview passed away on November 4, 2023 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. Mr. Butler was born September 3, 1943, in Cullman County to William Hearchel and Ruth Smith Butler. He was married to his beloved wife Kaye Butler for 56 years.

Mr. Butler was a follower of Jesus. He was a life-long member and long time deacon of the First Baptist Church of Fairview. He was part owner and operator of Cullman Printing before his retirement. Bill loved to work in his yard and garden. He became well known for his ability to grow and graft Japanese maple trees. The beauty of his yard has been enjoyed by many for years.

He is survived by his wife, Kaye, sons Sean (Jennifer), Scott (Angela); grandsons Will Butler, Cody Butler and Martin Dyar. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hearchel and Ruth Butler, brothers Jack, Charles Ray ‘Shag’ and Pelham.

Services will be on November 7, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Fairview with visitation from 10:30-12, immediately followed by a memorial service. Interment will follow at First Baptist Church of Fairview Cemetery. Bro. David Chamber and Bro. Dennis Loyd will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Sean Butler, Scott Butler, Will Butler, Cody Butler, Martin Dyar and Ray Butler.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in his memory to the First Baptist Church of Fairview Cemetery Fund.
