William Lonnie “Bill” Sherrill, age 73, of Bolivar, passed from this life Monday, September 26, 2022, at Bolivar General Hospital.
He was born Friday, October 15, 1948, in Tipton County, son of the late Joseph Guy Sherrill and Lula Dale Vaughn Sherrill, living most of his life in Tipton County. He moved to this area in 1992. He worked as a truck driver for several companies, becoming disabled in 2002. Mr. Sherrill enjoyed singing gospel music, going to church, praising Jesus, playing cards with Becky and watching the birds. He sang in the gospel group, “The Revelations”, making several gospel CD’s that blessed many people. He was married to Becky Swain for 26 1/2 years, and still enjoyed her company. Mr. Sherrill was a member of Dancyville Assembly of God Church in Stanton.
Survivors include his ‘soulmate’, Evelyn “Becky” Swain of Bolivar; two sons, William Lonnie Sherrill, Jr. “Billy” (Gretchen) of Greeneville, TN and Steven Adkison of Bartlett; two daughters, Debra Adkison of Reno, NV and Amy Middleton (Shawn) of Burlison; a brother, Kenneth Sherrill (Jeanette) of Tipton County; grandchildren, Fletcher Sherrill, Seth Middleton, Christian Hesford, Kelsey Mills, Camden Burk, Kammila Burk, Karissa Adkison, Zach Clark, Collin Clark and Sydney Clark, Dylan and Ethan Clark; great grandchildren, Ezra Jones, Ronin Middleton and Michael Clark; Becky’s children, James Clark (Heather) of Munford and Jeff Clark (Becky) of Medina and the mother of James Clark’s children, Jessica Clark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Sherrill and Annette Johnson; and four brothers, Glenn, Ray, Donald and Paul Sherrill.
