William Leroy Taylor William Leroy Taylor, age 88, of the Crooked Oak Community, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Terrace Manor Nursing Home.

Leroy graduated early from Deshler High School and then proudly served in the U.S. National Guard.  He worked for over 30 years as an architect at Oakland Metal Buildings.  He was a devout Christian man, a faithful servant, a devoted Sunday School Teacher, and served as a deacon at Crooked Oak Baptist Church.  His quiet steadfastness has helped guide Crooked Oak for many years.

Leroy and his wife, Janice, enjoyed many mission trips helping to build churches across the U.S, enjoyed going to Baptist Associational Meetings, and being around people.  They were active members of Gideons International and Woodmen of the World.  He was a devoted husband, a loving father and adored his grandsons.  He was a kind, gentle man, had a sense of humor and loved doing whatever Janice wanted to do.  He is finally reunited with his wife who he missed so much, viewing Heaven that he taught so much about, and walking and talking with his Lord who he loved.

He was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life of 56 years, Janice Brewer Taylor; his dad, William Abner Taylor; mother, Beulah Nevada Taylor; stepmother, Velma Taylor; and sister, Lorene Taylor Thorn.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Jason Taylor (wife, Shirlene); grandsons, Shawn Taylor and Adam Taylor; sister, Dottie Stuart (husband, David); special niece, Rhonda Crutchfield; and several other nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel.   The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Eddie Wix officiating the service.  The burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.

The pallbearers will be the deacons and friends at Crooked Oak Baptist.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to Gideons International, East Franklin Camp, PO Box 26, Russellville, AL 35653.
