William Larry Mauldin, age 82, of Muscle Shoals, AL, took his last breath from this earthly life on Friday, October 11, 2024. As a Christian he passed with dignity with his eyes focused on Heaven. His family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 1-2pm at Colbert Memorial Chapel. His funeral will begin at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with Derek Washington officiating. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Larry grew up in Colbert Heights and had a good, successful career building, servicing, and maintaining America’s power plants as a second-generation Union Boilermaker. More than that, though, he was a kind and gentle soul that loved very easily. He made many friends and influenced so many people across this nation. He will be missed dearly by so many. He was popularly known as “Uncle Larry” to dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Evelyn Marie Mauldin; brother, Phillip C. Mauldin; brothers-in-law, Jerry Quinn, and Eugene Arnold; stepson, Mitchell Askew; and granddaughter, Haley Mauldin.
William is survived by the mother of his child, Betty Mauldin; his son, Bryant Mauldin; stepdaughters, Wendy King, and Kim Askew; grandsons, Aaron Mauldin, Raymond Askew; brother, Mike Mauldin (Cindy); sisters, Pat Quinn, and Jayne Arnold; nieces, Dawn Quinn, and Heather Quinn; nephews, Britton Mauldin, Brandon Mauldin, Jeff Arnold, Craig Mauldin (Cindy), and Gene Arnold; and many cousins.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family gives a special thank you to everyone who reached out for your prayers and support as he fought a noble battle with his health over the last months of his life.
