William Joseph “Joe” Moody – Obituary

William Joseph “Joe” Moody, 77 of Addison, entered into rest on Friday, July 22, 2016 at his home.

Joe was born on March 14, 1939 in Perkinston, Mississippi. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for twenty years as an Aviation Machinist Mate First Class. He was a member of the Decatur SDA Church for twenty years. He served in many positions over the years, including Deacon and Elder. He also conducted Bible studies, was the Pathfinder Director, and was involved with the Men’s Jail Ministry. Joe was a loving, caring man and was loved by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 6pm at Kemp Baptist Church in Addison. Elder Charles Watkins will officiate.

Joe is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dana Moody; son, William Joseph Moody II; daughter, Shannon Acreneaux and her husband John; step-son, John Kevin Saylors; step-daughter, Christian Lea Saylors Meyer and her husband Loren; life-long best friend, John Loper. He was “Papa Joe” to 5 grandchildren, Garrett, Brice and Hunter Moody, Lars Meyer and Abigail Acreneaux.
