William Jeffrey Owen, age 55, of Muscle Shoals passed away Tuesday, March 5th, 2013. Visitation will be Friday, March 8th, 11:00 A.M. -1:00 P.M. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Doug Farris, and Bro. Brian McIntyre officiating. The honor guards will be provided by Florence Police Dept. and special music provided by high school friend, Tim Hicks. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Town Creek. Pallbearers will be Chuck Scott, John Lackey, Tim Hicks, Tony Logan, Jim Curtis, Ken Lester, David Stovall and Anthony Stovall. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Harris and Gary Ray. Mr. Owen was a 1976 graduate of Muscle Shoals High School , member of Muscle Shoals Baptist Church and was a 30 year veteran of the Florence Police Department. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil J. Owen; grandparents Will and Helen Jacobs and Clarence and Addie Owen, beloved and loyal pet, Czar. Survivors include: Wife of 26 years, Joyce Beavers Owen, Muscle Shoals Mother, Marie Jacobs Owen, Muscle Shoals and a beloved and loyal pet, Aspen. He is also survived by a host of Aunts, Uncles, Sisters in law, Brothers in law and Nieces and Nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Brad McAnally, Dr. Charles Dasher and to Helen Keller Hospital 3rd and 4th floor nurses, and to Huntsville Hospital 8th floor nurses for their excellent care of Jeff during his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Florence Police Department, SWAT Team.
