William James “Jim” Turner – Obituary

williamWilliam James “Jim” Turner, age 71, of Columbia, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014. Born July 12, 1942 in Osceola, AR, he lived for many years in Memphis before moving to Columbia.
Jim worked at the Pepsi Cola Plant in Tulsa, Ok & at Pitney Bowes in Memphis, TN. He would often cross-stitch gifts for his grandchildren’s teachers at Highland Park Elementary School. He donated crafts to the students at King’s Daughters’ School. He would also handcraft gifts for his friends at Signature Health Care. Jim was an avid pinball player, and loved to tell jokes.
Jim is survived by: Daughters; Jamie Parrish of Columbia, Amber (Marcus) Fields of Fairmount, IN, and Angie Smith of Memphis, Grandsons; Jason Parrish, Michael Parrish, Granddaughters; Katherine Parrish, Bryghton Fields, Isabelle Smith, and Great – Granddaughter; Sophie Parrish.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 28 at 1:30 p.m. at Signature Health Care, 1401 Trotwood Ave. Columbia. Rev. David Baker will officiate the service.
