William J. “Bill” Lumalcuri, 96, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice. He was born July 16, 1917, in New York to Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Lumalcuri. In New York, he worked for the City of Yonkers and did body work. He was a Catholic and attended Mantachie Methodist Church. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of World War II. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, and flowers, and enjoyed shopping and dining out with his wife.
Services will be at 2 p. m. Friday, January 17, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Ron Schwake officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Dathel McFerrin Lumalcuri, of Mantachie; a daughter-in-law, Paula Lumalcuri; two grandchildren, Amanda Tortino and Matthew Lumalcuri; and one sister, Grace Martini, all of Yonkers, New York.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Joe Lumalcuri and Gary Lumalcuri; his parents; and six siblings, Ann Borelli, Mary Constantini, Joseph Lumalcuri, Pat Lumalcuri, Anthony Lumalcuri, and Nancy Veletus.
Pallbearers will be the men of Mantachie Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Thursday at the funeral home.
