 William Hoyt “Butch” Keeton, Jr., 70, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at his residence.  He was born in Alabama on May 3, 1952 to William Hoyt Keeton, Sr. and Peggy Turner Keeton.  He worked for Keeton Oil Company and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Red Bay.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 3, 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Red Bay with Bro. Dallas Culver and Bro. Andy Barnett officiating.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife Mary Susette “Suzy” Keeton; children, Brooke Carnes (Mark), Brock Keeton (Stephanie) and Briana McCoy (Ian) and their mother, Brenda Keeton and grandmother, Betty Fancher, TJ Pruitt and Dakota Pruitt (Bethany); grandchildren, Lexie and Cody Carnes, Zac Wood (Taylor), Trent Wood (Lauren) and Kassi Grimes, Brayden, Brycen, Bailee and Amelia Pruitt; his great-granddaughter, Sawyer Kate Wood; his siblings, Kathy Hale (Sammy), Lisa Davis (Brooks) and Hal Keeton (Shala); a host of nieces and nephews; his father-in-law, Arlin Brown; brother-in-law, Jeff Brown; sisters-in-law, Belinda Hare (Mike) and Christy Barnett (Andy); his precious pet Tuffy and his caregivers, Stephanie Horn, Lisa Brown and NMMC Hospice.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Alonso Keeton, Lola Keeton, Thomas Turner, Louise Ashmore “Mama Lou” Turner and two brothers-in-law, Michael Robert Fancher and Michael Wheeler.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Sparks, Tyler Davis, Casey Keeton, Ron Koger, Blake Bullen and Kobe Koger.  Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Davis, C.K Patterson, John Bostick, Phil Bullen, Jimmy Patterson and Edward McKinney.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 3, 12-2 at First United Methodist Church, Red Bay, AL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Hoyt Keeton Walking Trail, P.O. Box 202, Red Bay, AL 35582.
