William Henry “Bill” Bevis – Obituary

William Henry “Bill” Bevis age 82 of Killen passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. At Mr. Bevis’s request, Visitation and Service will be held Privataly. Burial at Tri-Cities. Elkins East Chapel in charge.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Lee and Vertie Mae Darby Bevis, his sisters Georgie Mae Grimes, Annie Ruth Dawson, Ester Matelewich, and Dorothy Coker.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Madeline Williams Bevis and their four sons- Mike Bevis and wife Melissa, Danny Bevis and wife Jackie, Jeff Bevis and wife Shylee, and Jerry Bevis. Beloved grandchildren Michelle, Michael, Kasey, Faith, Tristan , Bradford , Mallie-Grace, Braylen. Great grand-children Kamdyn and Logan Phillips, Aubree and Ayden Faires.
His Grandkids knew and loved him as Papaw Bill on the Hill.

Bill served his country in the Army and was proud of his time in service. He worked for TVA as a certified gas and diesel mechanic. He owned and operated his own service station. He loved living on Shoals Creek and enjoyed sharing many fun times on the water with family and friends. He’s best known for his love of vintage cars and his passion for Model A’s. He enjoyed tinkering with them and sharing them with younger generations.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mitchell Hollingsworth and special care giver Holly Eckl for the loving care given.
