William H.Smith – Obituary

Mr. William H. Smith was born June 24, 1939, in Colbert County, Ala. He was the third child born to Mr. James and Minnie Bell (Posie) Smith.

He confessed faith in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church and was a faithful member until his health failed. He served on the Steward Board and was a member of the male chorus.

He leaves to cherish his memories three sons, Mr. William Erick Smith (Alva), of Knoxville, Tenn., Mr. Kenneth Smith (Mischerl) of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mr. James E. Perkins (Peggy), of Cleveland, Ohio; four daughters, Ms. Marilyn Smith, Ms. Janice Marie Smith, Ms. Kelly Smith and Ms. Melanie E. Smith, of Milwaukee, Wis.; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Haley, of Cherokee, Ala., Mrs. Donnie Thompson, of Huntsville, Ala., and Ms. Elizabeth Smith, of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, Mr. Willie B. Smith, of Tuscumbia, Ala. and Mr. James Smith Jr., of Detroit, Mich.; eleven grandchildren; one aunt, Mrs. Juanita Posie, of Atlanta, Ga.; a devoted cousin, Mr. Jimmie Smith, of Florence, Ala.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be noon Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Mt. Zion African Methodist Church (Hawkins Creek), Muscle Shoals, Ala. Burial will be in Pearsall Cemetery, Muscle Shoals, Ala. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.
