William Gerald Haraway

William Gerald Haraway, of Florence, born December 1, 1940, went to his heavenly home on August 11, 2023.

Visitation will be Saturday August 19, 2023, from 6pm to 8pm at Greenview Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be Sunday August 20, 2023, at 1pm at Greenview Funeral Home.  Burial following the service at Greenview Cemetery.  Officiating the service will be Pastor Terry Herston.

First and foremost, he loved his God and served him every day.  He was a loving and caring Dad, Granddad and Pops to many. He was retired from Imperial Casting Company.

Mr. Haraway was preceded in death by his wife, Eloyce Haraway; parents, James Henry and Effie Haraway; brothers, James Willard, Franklin Delon Haraway and infant; sisters, Celestine, Nell, Carolyn Haraway and Audene Varnell; and brother-in-law, Enous Varnell.

He is survived by daughters, Linda Michelle Haraway Tubbs, married to Matthew Tubbs of Sheffield, AL and Teresa Haraway Harrison, married to Joey Harrison of Port St. Lucie, FL.; sister, Marie Camp, married to Sam Camp of Rogersville, AL.; grandson, Larry Joe Harrison of Florence, AL.; granddaughter, Makayla Harrison of Cullman, AL.; great grandsons, Larry Joe Harrison Jr. and Alistair Grey Harrison of Florence, AL.; a special niece, Elaine Miller of Florence, AL.; and a special nephew, Michael Camp of Rogersville, AL.

Pallbearers are Larry Joe Harrison, Michael Camp, Samuel Camp, Matthew Camp, Robert Miller, Scottie Lanier and Tim Lanier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Don Patterson and Bobby Haynes.

A special thank you to all of the wonderful staff at El Reposo Nursing Facility and Dr. Wampler for their wonderful loving care, kindness and support.

We invite family and friends for a fellowship meal at Petersville Community Center following the burial.
