Mr. William George Christian, 82, was born February 20, 1941 and passed away peacefully on his farm on July 12, 2023. Mr. Christian was a native of Van Buren County, but spent the majority of his life and raised his family in the Green Hill Community. He was an elder and song leader at Bluff Springs church of Christ, a nurseryman, and retired masonry contractor. He bricked hundreds of homes, buildings, and churches in his lifetime in Warren and surrounding counties. He also served as the chairman of the Webb Cemetery and was a former Warren County commissioner and board member of the Middle Tennessee State University Student Christian Center. His favorite role in life, however, was cheering from the stands for his children and grandchildren when they played sports. George never met a stranger and always had a good story to tell.
Mr. Christian is survived by his wife of 63 years, Billie Dean Cantrell Christian; three children, Donnie Christian (Dawn), Kim Wilkinson, DeDe Holmes (Scott), all of the Green Hill community; five grandchildren, William Lou Christian (Betsy) of Nashville, TN, Lauren Cotten (Greg) of White House, TN, Christian Wilkinson (fiancée Kaitlyn) of Nashville, TN, Garrison Holmes (Therese) of Green Hill, Emma Donoho (Blaine) of Portland, TN; five great grandchildren, Stella and Tate Cotten, Emersyn Lou Christian, Beckham Holmes and One-on-the-way Donoho. Several special nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many friends also survive.
Mr. Christian was preceded in death by his father, William Clyde Christian, mother, Eunice Christian and sister, Emma Jean Hice.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 15, 2023 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Teddy Jones and Richard Bowman will officiate. Interment will follow at Webb Cemetery. The Christian family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at McMinnville Funeral Home.
