William Franklin Thornton, 81, of Ardmore, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024, at his home.
Mr. Thornton lived in the Ardmore area for a majority of his life, where he was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church for 51 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching Westerns and football, as well as spending time in his garden.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Thornton, and mother Lillie Mae Thornton, as well as 2 sisters, Ruth Thornton and Betty Thornton.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice Hargrove Thornton; sons Tracy (Whitney) and Trent (Elizabeth); 4 granddaughters Emma, Kate, Emry, and Sadie; and 1 grandson Case.
Funeral services for Mr. Thornton will be Saturday, July 20th, 2024, at 11:00am at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-9:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
