William Ellis Wheatley Jr., 87 of Athens, Alabama, died Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Limestone Health Facility.
Mr. Wheatley was born October 9, 1934 in Limestone County, he is retired from the Rockford Public School District in Rockford, IL.
There will be a 11am Graveside Service Thursday at Lentzville Cemetery with Matt Taylor officiating. No visitation is planned. Spry Funeral Home in Athens is directing.
Survivors: Wife, Josie Wheatley of Athens. Daughter, Barbara (Douglas) Dirksen. Granddaughters, Alissa (Patrick) Cagney and Kimberly (Robert) Rhodes. Great Grandson, Mark Rhodes. Sisters, Mattie Pugh and Myrtle Medley.
Preceded in death by, Parents, W.E. and Elmira Wheatley. Sisters, Ruthie, Wilma, Ali (Pat) and Sue. Brothers, Joe and Louis (Dean)
