He was born on October 6, 1949 to Aron Norverta and Sara Ellis Dunnam Jones in Ripley, Mississippi. In earlier years he had a passion for hunting and fishing. William was a member of the Dumas Community Church. He was a philanthropist who gave to many organizations and a very devoted, generous Christian man.

In the words of his nephews, “Uncle William was a gentle giant, one who taught us so much through his knowledge and patience.  He provided us with a life we never would have had, if it weren’t for him and Aunt Sandra, we would not be who we are today.  Uncle William taught us his legacy of hunting with different caliber guns for various game and how to use a rod and reel from a very young age.  Our most memorable times of true innocent fun and actually being a child, were spent with Uncle William. From snow sledding, to lake fishing, swimming, and going on hunting trips ; he was always a good time and joy to be around. He was a selfless man and very generous Christian with a heart of gold. We are so blessed to have had him as our dear uncle, may his memory live on throughout our lives and days to come.”

William is survived by two nephews, one niece : Brian (Emilee) Camp, Chris (Marlee) Camp, and Summer Camp. And two great nephews and nieces: Tyler Camp, Kason Carmichiel, Maddie Camp, and Ellzie Camp.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years Sandra Camp Jones, his brother Joe Jones and parents.
