William Earl JohnsonMr. William Earl “Sonny” Johnson transitioned from his earthen vessel for his heavenly home on Saturday January 29, 2022. He was the 5th child of fourteen, born to the late Emma Bell Johnson and David Johnson in Humboldt, Tn. On May 24, 1950.

William “Sonny” Johnson attended and graduated from Stigall High School in 1969; He confessed Christ at an early age at St. James Baptist Church. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army in 1970; he served actively at Fort Bragg North Carolina from 1970 to1972, and in the Reserves until 1976.

He relocated to Muncie, Indiana. Where he worked on the railroad for Norfolk & Western 1975 to 1989, He loved to travel from city to city. He enjoyed spending quality time with his friends and family. He also loved playing football, baseball, and basketball. Sonny considered himself an avid fisherman and loved his special time gardening. Sonny loved people, and he took the phrase of being “my brother’s keeper” seriously. He was also considered the family “camera man”.

He then moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he met his present wife Sharion Johnson, they moved to Rhome, Texas.

“Sonny “as we called him had an unconditional love for all of his beautiful children, grandchildren, and his great grandchild.

He was proceeded in death by His mother (Emma Bell Johnson), Father (David Johnson), two sisters (Allie Evans & Lillie Bell Johnson) brother (Mark Anthony Johnson), and son Sonny “Bear” Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Sharion Johnson, Rhome, Tx., seven children LaCresha Huddleston, Holland, OH.  William “JJ” Johnson, Rhome, Tx; Acko “Nicole” Ross, Muncie, IN; Justin Johnson, Muncie, IN; Lashonda Cole (Ivan Cyars) Muncie, In.; Nicole Cox, FT. Worth, Tx.; Johnathan Wright Dallas, TX.; (Ten Brothers and sisters, James (Martha) Virginia of Trenton TN; Daisy Marie Glenn, Alleen Demeatry Johnson, Cincinnati, OH; Myron (Brinders) Johnson, Cordova, TN; Diane Bullock of St. Louis, MO.; Donna (Barry) Douglass, Louis (Vivian) Johnson of Jackson, TN; Brenda Johnson, Priscilla Johnson, Bridgett (Kenny) Lee Cincinnati, OH. 16 grandchildren (India, Brittany, Justus, Audreanna, Channah, Cooper, Riley, Mica, Mi’chael, Justyn, JaiDen, Zoie, Gracelynn, Tanner, Dakota, Kayden) 1 great granddaughter Rosemary Leann & a host of nieces and nephews, many cousins, and other friends.
