William E. “Pete” Cosby, 85, of Cherokee, died, Saturday, February 23, 2013. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m., Sunday at Morrison Funeral Home of Cherokee. The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Mynot Cemetery. Wayne Franks is officiating. Mr. Cosby was a native of Cherokee, a Navy veteran of WWII, and a member of Mynot Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Edith Irene Cosby. Survivors include his son, Gary Cosby and wife Jeanette; daughter, Nancy Cosby Bolton and husband Wayne; grandchildren, Lilla Cosby Brasher and husband Frankie, Jennifer Bolton Rutland and husband Michael, and Rena Bolton Smith and husband Michael David; great-grandchildren, Olevia Haynes, Michelle Rutland, Logan Rutland, Ethan Smith and Riley Smith; and step-great-grandchildren, Jennell and Justice Brasher . Pallbearers will be Terry, Ricky, Anthony, and Doug Cosby, Mike Melton, and Jimmy Mitchell.
