William E. “Bill” Thornton, 79, of Rogersville died Thursday, January 27th, 2017 at his residence.
He was a lifelong Christian, presently a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Killen, AL. He was retired from Reynolds Metal Company after 30 years of service and a member of IBEW Local #558 since 1967.
Funeral service will be Sunday, January 29th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 1- 2 on Sunday. Burial will follow in Civitan Cemetery.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy & Maggie Thornton; brothers, Albert and Jessie Thornton; sisters, Susie Strickland and Edna Gray; grandson, Rodney Borden; step-son, Wade Herston. He is survived by his wife, Linda Thornton; daughters, Betty (Art) Lyle, Tammy (Mike) Jones, Sherrie Thornton; sons, Tommy (Sherry) Thornton, Billy Joe Thornton; sister, Christine Brown; step-children, Pam (Anthony) Givens; Randall (Terra) Herston; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
