Dudley Nash Profile PhotoWilliam Dudley Nash, 92, of Amory, Mississippi, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 8, 2024. Born on December 27, 1931, to the late Dee Nash and Maddie Meek Nash, Dudley lived a life of purpose, faith, and love that impacted countless lives.A proud graduate of Amory High School in 1951, Dudley continued his education and athletic career on a basketball scholarship at Mississippi State University. During his junior year, he married the love of his life, Lucy Leech of Amory, on June 12, 1954. Together, they built a legacy of faith and family that spanned 70 years of marriage.  Dudley’s career began in education, teaching and coaching at Pontotoc High School, before transitioning into business. He and Lucy lived in Houston, Mississippi, and later Memphis, Tennessee, where Dudley served as president of Boise Cascade. However, in 1972 at 2263 Lovitt Drive, an encounter with God forever changed his life. This pivotal moment led Dudley to dedicate his life to ministry, returning to Amory to start a small group church in their home. That small gathering grew into the North Mississippi Worship Center, the first nondenominational church in the area.

For over 50 years, Dudley and Lucy faithfully pastored the church, impacting generations through their dedication to God’s call. Dudley had a passion for teaching the Word of God, making it simple and relatable for everyone to understand and apply. His ministry was marked by countless weddings, baptisms, baby dedications, hospital visits, and lives transformed through his faithfulness.  Dudley earned his Bible degree from Word of Faith Leadership and Bible Institute in 1984 and later received his doctorate in 2002 from Life Christian University in Tampa, Florida. Outside of ministry, he enjoyed playing golf, cherished time with his family, and was known for his bright red Christmas shirt, big smile, and friendly wave.

He leaves behind a foundation of truth and wisdom, and his life will forever inspire all who knew him.  Dudley’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, love, and dedication.

A celebration of his life will be at 12 noon on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at North Mississippi Worship Center on Lake Monroe Road in Wren.  Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park.
