Mr. William Douglas Thompson, age 88, of Athens, AL, passed away on December 14, 2019, at his home. Mr. Thompson was born on February 20, 1931, in Lauderdale County, AL to William Cecil Thompson and Gladys Camp Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife Merle McMeans Thompson; daughter, Rose Marie Chisholm (David); son, Jeffery Thompson (Alice); four grandchildren, Laura Hudson, Ashley Hudson, Leah McIntyre (Mason) and William Troy Thompson (Samantha); two sisters, Margaret Noblitt and Judy Davis; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. Thompson will be at 2:00PM on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Guy McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 prior to the service. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jackie Noblitt, Barry Thompson, Mike Swinea, Darryl (Buck) Thompson, Troy Thompson, Mason McIntyre, Roger Keyes and Sam Keyes.
