William Davis "Will Davis" Edwards William Davis “Will Davis” Edwards, age 94 of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family, on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Born in the Rockdale-Fellowship Community in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Hiram Epps Edwards, Sr. and Erlene Davis McPeak Edwards. Mr. Edwards was also preceded in death by the love of his life, Evelyn Keele Edwards; sisters, Pauline and Lorene Edwards, Edna E. Comer, and Juanita Edwards Burlason; brothers, Thomas Edwards, Bennie Lee Edwards, and Hiram Epps “Junior” Edwards, Jr.

 

Mr. Edwards is survived by his daughter, Debbie Brown and her husband Les of Mt. Juliet, TN; sons, DuWayne Kessler of Mt. Juliet, TN, Ronnie Edwards of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Sammy Edwards and his wife Nancy of Hermitage, TN; ten grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Cecil Edwards and his wife Ernesteen of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Leon Edwards of Pegram, TN; sisters, Gloria Swanner, Gay Humfield, and Bobbie Nabors and her husband Charles all of Mt. Juliet, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Living Springs Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Thursday at Living Springs Baptist Church with Derrick Edwards and Mike Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lannom Cemetery with military honors. Shannon Edwards, Rusty Edwards, Ben Goben, Erick Blackwood, Danny Fudge, Dennis Edwards, Cole Bennett, and Cody Bennett will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Adona Gossett and Betty Evans.

 

Mr. Edwards was a faithful member of Living Springs Baptist Church, a 1948 graduate of Smyrna High School, a US Navy Korean veteran, and retired from the telecommunications industry.

 

The family would like to give special thanks to Bethany, Jennifer, Amanda, and Gentiva Hospice for the love and special care given to Mr. Edwards.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Living Springs Baptist Church, 4559 Weakley Lane Mt. Juliet, TN 37122, or Gentiva Hospice in memory of Mr. Edwards.
