William David Ray Royer – Obituary

William David Ray Royer, 66, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on September 28, 2013, in Decatur. He was born in Decatur to the late Lenear and Mary Royer. He is preceded in death by his sister, Paula Marlar; brother, Alan Royer; and his nephew, Freddy Lane.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rowe Sanderson; son, Adam (April) Royer; granddaughter, Morgan Royer; and daughter, Stephanie Royer of Chattanooga; brothers, Len (Emily) Royer of Enterprise and Tony (Debi) Royer of Harvest; sisters, Sue (Fred) Lane of Muscle Shoals and Robbie Conley of Decatur; aunt, Mrs. Louise Hill of Decatur; nine nieces and five nephews; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Burnett of Decatur and Judy Page of Huntsville.

Bill served in the U.S. Navy, was a graduate of the University of Alabama, spent 30 years working in the trucking industry and retired from the Hamilton County School System in Tennessee.

Services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Decatur on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. Family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m.

Because of Bill’s support and dedication to Adam and Stephanie’s interests, the family requests that any remembrances be sent to Ooltewsah Baptist Church (Ooltewah Baptist.org) or The Trousdale School (TrousdaleSchool.org) in lieu of flowers.
