William David “Bill” Byess age 88, of the West Point Community of Morgan County, died Thursday, January 21, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Byess was born in Pickens County Georgia, on April 7, 1927 to David Nathaniel and Nettie Mae Perry Byess. He was a retired maintenance supervisor with Morton – Thiokol in Huntsville Alabama. Mr. Byess was also a World War II Veteran in the US NAVY. He was a member of the Brindlee Mountain Baptist Church.
Mr. Byess is survived by, his wife, Betty Mae Bruce Byess, sons, William David Byess Jr. and Dean Franklin Byess (Margaret), a daughter, Angela Stephanie Byess Brasseale (John), brother, Tex Byess (Wanda), Grandchildren, Jodi Pairitz (Joseph), Pam Hester, Jennifer Byess, Leytrell Byess and Shannon Byess. Six great children and two great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a brother Troy Byess.
Funeral Service will be Sunday January 24, 2016 at 2;00 p.m. at Brindlee Mountain Baptist Church in Morgan City. The body will also lie in state on Sunday from 1;00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be on Saturday – January 23, 2016 – from 6;00 p.m. – 8;00 p.m. at Brindlee Mountain Baptist Church.
