William D. “Squeaky” Billings – Obituary

Graveside service for William D. “Squeaky” Billings, age 83 of Mulberry, will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 1 PM at Mulberry Cemetery with Rev. Ennis Hyman officiating. Burial will be beside his wife Ruth Billings who passed away in 2006. Mr. Billings passed away Monday evening in Huntsville Hospital.

A native of Athens, AL but a longtime resident of Lincoln County, Mr. Billings was the son of the late Clifford and Clara Billings. He was a former truck driver for A&P Grocery and volunteer fireman for Mulberry.

Survivors include nephews Jerry Billings and wife Gail of Hazel Green, AL, Cory Billings of GA, and C. B. Billings and wife Piper of GA, two nieces Kelly Billings of GA and Terry Sue Billings of SC, special friends and caregivers Faye and Gary Keller and several cousins and friends.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Billings was preceded in death by a son Gregory Allen Billings in 2007.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home
