William Charles Scott, age 86, of Tuscumbia, Alabama, passed away Saturday June 29, 2024. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. He was a member of the Cowboy Church of Colbert County.
Charles was a renowned “freight hauler” owner operator. He loved what he did and was revered and loved by all who knew him. He started driving when he was 17 years old to California hauling produce out of Hamilton, AL. Many have said that he was the last of the old-time truckers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Rosa Lee Scott; brother, Jimmy Max Scott; sister, Marilyn Joyce Lacy.
He is survived by wife of 63 years, Virginia Scott; son, William Todd Scott; daughter, Virginia “Gina” Tippett Holt; grandchildren, Emily Thorne (Jacob), Sarah Etie (Sebastian), Timmy Scott; great-grandchildren, Easton Hodges, Annabelle Grace Thorne, Hayden Tippett, Grayson Etie, Bella Etie, Rosie Scott, Hazlie Scott.
