William Carl Rose, Sr. was born November 14,1926 to James and Emma Rose Sr. in Sloatsburg, New York. Bill was a true family-man and handy man and mechanic. Over his lifetime he held many jobs and positions, but his true calling was to his family. Never being one to put himself first, he was always there to take care of those that needed it around him. After he graduated from Sloatsburg High School, he joined the Navy and served in World War II. After his service was completed, he married his wife, Olivia Simas Rose, in Fall River, Mass on Dec 29, 1945.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emma Rose Sr.; his three brothers, James, Robert and Arthur.
He is survived by his wife of 78 years, Olivia Simas Rose; his children, Bill Rose (Marilyn), Wayne Rose (Beth), Mary Ann Jordan, Debbie Bailie (Bill) and John Rose; 7 grandchildren, Cathy Rose Bergenroth (Neil), Karen Rose Valentine (Doug), Brad Gordon, Jill Gordon, Sarah Wright (Shay), Carl Rose (Camilla), Darren Rose; and 5 great-grandchildren, Emily Bergenroth, Skye Rose, Lennon Rose, Henry Wright and Grace Wright.
Pall bearers will be Bill Rose Jr, Wayne Rose, William Bailie, John Rose, Ed Oliveira and Don Adair.
A visitation for Bill Rose will be held Monday, November 11, 2024 with Rosary at 10:45 AM, 11:00 AM visitation with Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM officiated by Fr. Charles Deering at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church, followed by Interment at Roselawn Cemetery.
