William C. “Bill” Roberts, passed away peacefully Sept. 1, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
He was known to all as a kind, loving, witty man who deeply loved his family and friends. He was retired from Baxter Medical. He loved the Sayre community and lived there most of his life, He had a lot of stories that he told about the Sayre area which often involved sports. He attended the old Sayre Jr. High School and proceeded to attend Corner High School, where he graduated in 1955. He was very proud to have been a member of the 1954 Corner High School state champion basketball team. He also played football and baseball. He loved golf and Auburn.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Roberts, parents, Claudeen and Leslie Roberts and his brother Kenneth D. Roberts.
Survivors include his wife, Lila Kilgore Roberts; sons, Patrick Roberts (Valerie), Michael Roberts (Susie), Daniel Roberts, Kellye Bagwell and Paul Roberts; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bagwell, Trey Bagwell, Curtis, Nick, Johnathon, Auburn, Addison and Amerson Roberts and Briana Tindle; four great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held Sunday September 8, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm.
