A Celebration of Life Service for William “Bro. Bill” Wages 89 will be held 11:00 am Friday at North Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Vinson officiating and Bro. David Coln doing the eulogy. Burial will follow with Military Honors in the Corinth National Cemetery.

Bro. Bill died October 15, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family and church family. He was born May 6, 1933 in Union Co. MS. over the years he attended service school, as his father was in the military. Bill also joined the service serving in the US Army and then retiring from the US Air Force. It was in Okinawa on January 1968 he surrendered to the ministry, after his retirement from the service, he came to Corinth in 1973 to be an associate pastor at Oakland Baptist Church. He became pastor of North Corinth Baptist Church in 1978 where he served as pastor for 44 years until the time of his death. Over his 44 years, he received a Bachelor and Master of Theology from Baptist Christian College in Shreveport, LA. And a Doctorate of Theology from Oxford Baptist Institute in Oxford, MS., in 2005 North Corinth Christian academy was started, Over his 50 years, he has baptized thousands, held many wedding, funerals and led countless people to the Lord. He enjoyed history, camping, walking and spending time with his family and church family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Wages; daughter, Kay McMillin (Phillip); great granddaughter, Shiloh Parker; brothers, Bobby Wages (Pat), Jimmy Wages.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Kacie Hardin; grandsons, Berry Parker (Leah), Kerry Parker; sister-in-law, Ruby Burks; great grandchildren, Malachi Parker, Braiden Hardin, Willow King, John Tolles, Preston Parker, Nathan Parker, Bryant Parker and Ivy Gene Parker; and a host of other family and friends.
His grandson and great grandson will serve as pallbearers.
Family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 and Friday from 9:00 to serviced time at North Corinth Baptist Church.
