William "Billy" Andrew WoodMr. William “Billy” Andrew Wood, age 67 of McMinnville, TN, passed away Friday, November 01, 2024 at Ascension St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born in McMinnville, TN on March 11, 1957 and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He wore many hats in our community – member of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen having served as alderman for many years and also serving as Vice Mayor. Billy was proud to be an Eagle Scout, was salesman of the year 6 years in a row for Toyota Motor Co., and was a member of the Warren County School Board. He was a drummer for the Silver & Gold Band, the South Jackson Street Band of Tullahoma, and for his church as well as multiple other bands since his youth. He would have considered it his greatest honor to be well remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and friend.

 

Billy is survived by his wife of 30 years Julie Wood, children Kelly Wood, Casi Wood, and Atlanta Northcutt, sister Deborah (Wayne) Hudgens, grandson whom he adored Carter Klein Lee, and many long-time and special friends who he treasured knowing and staying in touch with throughout his life. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents Willie Andrew Wood and Nora Faye Gunter Wood and his brother James Wood.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held for Billy Wood on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. (noon) at the Warren County High School Auditorium. Receiving of friends will be from 10:00 A.M. until Noon Saturday at the school. For those planning to attend, please enter through the front doors of the Warren County High School (199 Pioneer Lane, McMinnville, TN)

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, the Silver & Gold Band, or the First Baptist Church Youth Program in Billy’s memory.
