William (Bill) Wing Wright

William (Bill) Wing Wright was born in Oak Park, IL on June 5, 1933 to William Curtiss and Margaret Louise (Wing) Wright. A resident of Huntsville, AL, he died on April 9, 2023.

Bill grew up in Ogden, IA and graduated from Ogden High School in 1951. He attended Iowa State University where he participated in Football and Wrestling. In 1953 he enlisted in the US Army & amp; served during the Korean War. After the war he graduated with a teaching degree from UNI. His last teaching position was at Boone High School.

In 1981 he relocated to Huntsville, AL, graduated with an Electrical Engineering Degree from UAH, and finished his working career with Teledyne Brown Engineering. In 1990 he was proud to again serve his country in the Army Reserves as he volunteered to deploy for the first Gulf War after which he was awarded the Bronze Star. He retired from the Army Reserves after more than 30 years of service.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother Charles Thomas (Tom). Survivors include: his wife of 35 years Nancy Jo, Huntsville, AL; brother Bruce (Sandi), Rock Island, IL; son William Curtiss Wright (Jenny), Superior, CO; daughters Jeanne Louise DeRemer (Mike), Seguin, TX; and Anine Sue Allen, Littleton, CO; Grandsons, William Walker Wright and Hayden Wright, Superior, CO; R. Jorden Starr, San Antonio, TX; Stephen F. Starr, Cibolo, TX; Lt. Wyatt Curtiss Starr, McGuire AFB, NJ; Nicolas A. Allen, Bellevue, NE; Great grandson, Ryan M. Starr, Cibolo, TX. Bill is also survived by stepchildren, Terry Lynne Stinson (Brian), Huntsville. AL; Tommy Bowden (Susan), Huntsville, AL; their children and grandchildren.
