William “Bill” Keifer Brust, age 92, was welcomed into his Heavenly home on April 15, 2018. He was born in Mounds, IL, and moved to Florence in 1942. After graduating from Coffee High School in 1943, he enlisted in the Marines and served during World War II in the South Pacific. Bill and Eddie Lee Daily were married in 1951 and made Florence their home. Bill was a deacon and active member of Highland Baptist Church for many years. He retired from TVA after 30 plus years of service. After retiring, Bill and Eddie Lee volunteered with Campers on Mission, constructing church buildings and aiding in disaster relief. They enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Charles George Brust and Nonnie Cornett Brust; wife, Eddie Lee Brust, and brother, Charles C. Brust.
He is survived by his children, Nonnie Brust, Debbie (Joe) Priester, and Bill (Debbie) Brust; grandchildren, Katie (Dave) Styblo, Joe (Christy) Priester, and Davis Priester; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Max Priester; Patrick, Taylor, and Will Styblo; and several nieces and nephews.
In all things Bill Brust was Semper Fi – always faithful – to God, his country, his family and friends. He was a beloved husband, daddy, granddad, great-granddad and uncle. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Thursday April 19, 2018 from 12-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother John Brock and Brother Chris Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Florence City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cade Beavers, Sammy Hale, Seth Hale, Chris Somers, Mark Tomlinson and Trent Tomlinson.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joe Priester, III, Davis Priester, and Dave Styblo.
