On Wednesday, December 25, 2024, William (Bill) Green Hill, Jr., 72, resident of Ashland, passed away unexpectedly at his home.

Mr. Hill was born January 26, 1952, in Lepanto, Arkansas, to the late William and Martha Eason Hill, Sr.  He was a graduate of Lepanto High School and went on to work in construction and becoming known as one of best excavator operators around.

Mr. Hill, a private, generous man with no sense of time, dearly loved his family, was proud of all his children and grandchildren, and would help anybody do anything.  He enjoyed listening to old southern classic rock, which included the bands, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Blackberry Smoke, watching TV, especially reality shows where people lived off the grid and he loved to travel all over the United States.

Memories will continue to be shared by one daughter, Holland (Holly) Hill (Chris) of Georgia, two sons, Sam Hill (Kimberly) of Ripley, and Will Hill of Falkner, nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jerry and Allen Hill.

The staff of Ripley Funeral Home invites you to share memories.
