William “Bill” Gordon, 82, of Harvest, originally of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday.  He proudly served in the United States Army for over thirty years before his retirement, particularly during the Cold War in which he was an active participant.

He enjoyed life and was passionate about his favorite pastime which was square dance calling. He had several square dancing clubs and was a professional caller for many years.  He was also appropriately nicknamed “Yodeling Bill Gordon”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey & Helen Gordon; his sisters, Sue, Shirley, and June.

Surviving family members include his daughter, Terresa Gowen (Robert M. Pears); his granddaughters, Amanda (Tevin) Freeman and Katie (Luke) Ogden; his signficant other of thirty years, Gayle Silverman; his four great-grandchildren, Trinity, Luka, Vivian, and Luke Jr.; his twin brother, Wilbur Gordon, brother, Dick Gordon, and sister, Katsey Dorsey;  He is also survived by numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life with full military honors will be held on Friday at 3pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  The family will begin receiving friends at 2pm.

Bill will be remembered for being fun to be around, for his kindness, his generosity, and for his legacy as an amazing father.
