William “Bill” Cook – Obituary

Mr. William “Bill” Cook, age 72, husband of Edna “Judy” Cook, and a resident of Jordan Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday morning, February 10, 2017 at his residence.

 

A funeral service will be held on Monday at 6PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Brennan officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4-6PM at the funeral home.

 

Born on May 28, 1944 in Maury County, Bill was the son of the late Thomas Harvey Cook and the late Maxie Adams Cook. He worked in maintenance for Housing Authority in Mt. Pleasant and also worked for many years as a contractor for Keith Baker Homes in Columbia. He was a member of Glenns Chapel Methodist Church in Spring Hill. Bill enjoyed computers and country music. He also liked watching old westerns and The Andy Griffith Show. Bill loved all of his family, but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his little dog, Button.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Tammy J. (Buddy) Ashworth of Columbia, Denvy (Don) Estes of Mt. Pleasant, David Cook of Memphis, Shannon Cook of Mt. Pleasant, William “Todd” (Kerri) Cook of Culleoka; brother: Warren (Kay) Cook of Columbia; sister-in-law: Peggy Cook of Louisiana; grandchildren: Tiffany Cook, David “Boobo” Cook, Erin Wiley, Kaiden Wiley, Camdyn Cook, Russell Davis, Casey Davis, Joseph Ashworth, Katie Ashworth, Mandy Ashworth, Kyle Davis, Justin Schaller; and great grandchildren: Bentley Hall, Bradley Hall, and Brandon Hall.

 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Rowena Gilliam; brother: James Cook; and very special friend: Lila Cook.
